Update: SEIU Clerical Negotiation Session 11

The University and SEIU met for a half day of bargaining that lasted approximately 3 hours. This is the fifth session with federal mediator Stephen George. The union began the session by proposing a settlement agreement for the open economics issues. The University countered. After the University’s presentation, the Union asked for future dates – ending the session. SEIU currently sits at a 4 year term (3%, 1.5% $750.00 on time payment, 2.5% or CWP, whichever one is higher, 2.5% or CWP, whichever one is higher). UIC countered at (2%), CWP (currently 0% 500 one-time payment), 1.25% or CWP, 1.25% or CWP. SEIU also seeks newly created annual “step” increases for all classifications as well as new pay differentials and premiums.
