Update: SEIU Technical Negotiation Session 5

The University and SEIU met for a full day of bargaining. This is the third session with federal mediator Stephen George. The University began the session by tendering counterproposals on various noneconomic proposals. The sessions were described as cordial and collaborative by the mediator as the parties finalized agreement on several non-economic proposals. As a result, the parties signed 3 TAs (Article 3 - Negotiations and Representation; Article 7 – Vacation; and Article 16 - Discipline). There remain 5 non-economic Articles open. After the non-economic discussion, the University presented its first wage proposal. While reserving responses to SEIU’s various differential proposals, the University presented a 5-year proposal based on the Campus Salary Wage Program.
